BENEVOLENCE

Benevolence probably best described the week leading up to St. Paddy's Day - thanks to an incredible contribution from my boss and our company, the donations have skyrocketed to well over the minimum $2500 I promised to raise. The first $2500 will help cover the expenses we incur along the way, and now anything else contributed will go straight to Partners in Health!

Sunday, March 19th, we had a lovely "Bike & Brunch", hosted at Laura Cherry's home on Queen Anne hill in Seattle. Their view of downtown Seattle is unbeatable, and morning fog lifted just in time for us to enjoy it! About 10 of us, including my parents and 2 of my brothers, partook in a pre-brunch solidarity ride through downtown, along the waters of Elliot Bay, and then back up the grueling slopes of Queen Anne to join the other guests for brunch. It was wonderful to finally meet Deirdre, one of the other riders, after a few months of planning the event over the phone. We gave a little presentation about Partners in Health, the organization we're raising money for (www.pih.org), and raised over $800 in just a few short, fun hours! Thanks to all those who were able to attend. It inspires me that small groups of people really CAN make a difference by coming together and deciding they want to provide meaningful support to a cause. Here are some photos from the brunch - enjoy!
